Evan Stringfellow Takes the Helm at Fort Thomas, Eyes Steady Improvement

FORT THOMAS, Ariz. — The Fort Thomas High School football team is entering a season of transition and hope, with new head coach Evan Stringfellow at the helm. Stringfellow, who has been with the Fort for five years, steps into the head coaching role for the first time, bringing a fresh perspective and a focus on fundamentals to the Apaches program.

Last season, the Apaches finished with a 2-7 record, but Stringfellow is optimistic about the future. “Our goal is to continue improving and mastering the fundamentals of football,” he said. “We have a strong group of kids this year, and I believe they will give their all and make things happen.”

At quarterback for the Apaches is senior quarterback Allen Gilbert, who will lead the offense. On the defensive side, senior linebacker Cameron Kenton is expected to be a key player. The team also features a number of emerging talents, though many are still adapting to new systems on both offense and defense.

The coaching staff has undergone significant changes, with Stringfellow stepping up as head coach and a new group of assistants joining him. Bracken Walker will serve as the offensive coordinator, Garret McEuen will handle the offensive and defensive lines as well as special teams, and Danny Olson will take on the role of defensive coordinator and work with the offensive line.

Coach Stringfellow views every game as a crucial step in building a strong program. “Every game is a key game in establishing the culture and expectations of Fort Thomas football,” he emphasized.

Stringfellow’s philosophy centers on the importance of fundamentals and helping his players grow both on and off the field. “I’m excited and grateful to be part of the Fort Thomas High School Football program,” he said. “Our focus is not just on winning, but on developing great players and great people.”

As Fort Thomas gears up for the season, expectations are tempered by the reality of a young team learning new systems, but there is a quiet confidence that progress will be made. and the Apaches are poised to take meaningful steps forward in their journey toward building a competitive program.

Fort Thomas will have a ribbon cutting for their new turf field on Friday, August 30th, when they host Duncan.
