Other highlights from the report:
- Boston takes the #1 spot for safest city in the U.S. for the first time, climbing from #2 in 2025.
- New York City drops to #2 after three straight years at the top.
- Louisville makes the biggest climb in the safest rankings, jumping from #6 to #3.
- Los Angeles breaks into the safest top 10 for the first time, landing at #10.
- Albuquerque holds onto the #1 spot for most dangerous city for a second year in a row.
The report was compiled by KURU footwear. 36 metro cities were analyzed to rank the safest and most dangerous cities for pedestrians in 2026. Boston and New York were the top 2 safest cities for pedestrians according to the report.
