Hillsboro, Tx — Eastern Arizona College volleyball kept their hot streak alive by sweeping Hill College 3-0 to advance to the NJCAA Division 1 National Tournament in West Plains, Missouri.
The Monsters started fast after a 900-mile bus ride. They beat the Rebels 25-19, 25-20, 25-17 to run their streak to 6 straight sets won.
Eastern will now have a few days to prepare for the National Tournament before they head to Missouri. The Tournament runs November 17th through 19th at the West Plains Civic Center. The first-round matchups will be announced on Thursday, November 10th at 1:00 PM ET. Eastern Arizona (22-10) will join 14 other automatic qualifiers and two at-large teams in the 16-team field.
“We had a solid scouting report and went to work,” said EAC head coach, Shari Kay about her team’s effort on Tuesday. “The girls knew the game plan they wanted to execute it,” Kay added.
Eastern’s defense has been the difference the last two championship matches. Tuesday against Hill, the Monsters had 9 blocks.
“Our block was huge, and they didn’t know how to answer that,” said Coach Kay.
Eastern last qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament in 2017.
