SAFFORD — The Graham County Democratic Committee announced that a “No Kings” protest will take place in June.

The protest will take place Saturday, June 14, starting at 9 a.m., at the northwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 and 20th Avenue.

Protests will also take place the same day in Globe and Silver City, N.M. Participants are asked to bring their own signs.

“Together, we can make a difference and drive positive change. Your voice matters,” organizer wrote in announcing the event.

The “No Kings” protests will take place across the country and are organized by Indivisible.org.

“Alongside local organizers, partners, and leaders from across the pro-democracy and pro-worker movements, activists across the country will come together for marches, rallies, and demonstrations to reject corrupt, authoritarian politics in the United States,” the website states.

The website states “No Kings” is inspired by “the success of Hands Off! and May Day” protests that took place April 5, April 19 and May 1.
