David Wren

To be true to David Wren, remembering of him will be celebratory, to the point and a little sarcastic.

A heavy equipment mechanic for over 20 years, Dave knew his trade and if you worked anywhere near him, you knew it too. In the words of his co-workers and fellow Empire employees, he mentored and shared his wealth of knowledge with many of them, undoubtedly accompanied by a fair amount of heckling (to put it nicely). His skill along with his wit was unmatched, and if you didn’t personally know him, you knew of him. If you were lucky enough to be his friend you probably enjoyed getting it handed to you in a round of golf, a pool tournament or target shooting and I’m sorry if you ever found yourself across the table from him in a game of poker (a skill he passed on to his kids so if you’re looking for a game we’d be glad to take your money in his honor). You also probably enjoyed a damn good home cooked meal, plenty of humor and knowing there was no better person to have on your side. There wasn’t anything he cared about more than his kids and he made sure they knew, followed pretty closely by Boise State football and his new Corvette. If you picture him, picture baseball cap, Ray Bans, classic Vans slip ons, definitely speeding, but living his life the way he wanted to; with his own rules.

There will be no formal services at this time so if you’d like to celebrate his life go down to your local bar and have a drink for Dave.
