CLIFTON — With COVID-19 cases on the decline, the Greenlee County Tourism Council announced it’s time to bring back the Clifton Hill Climb, this time with a new name.

In a press release issued March 1, the Tourism Council announced the Felix Callicotte Memorial Hill Climb will take place April 16-18 in Ward Canyon.

The Hill Climb is a timed event, where cars one at a time make their way up the winding road in Ward Canyon.

A Racer’s Parade will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, on Chase Creek Street and end at the American Legion parking lot. Racing is all day Saturday and half-day Sunday, with the awards ceremony taking place Sunday afternoon at the ball fields in Ward Canyon. The American Legion will serve boxed dinners.
