WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., will deliver the Spanish language Republican rebuttal to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday.
Ciscomani, a freshman in Congress, represents all of Greenlee County, and parts of Graham, Cochise, Pima and Pinal counties.
On Feb. 4, on his office’s Twitter account, he said, “The issues impacting our country impact everyone. And our message of opportunity is for everyone. I’m committed to defend the American Dream for all.”
It’s not the first time Ciscomani has been elevated to a position of prominence by Republican House leadership. Before he was sworn in to serve his first term, Ciscomani gave one of the nominating speeches to elect Kevin McCarthy Speaker of the House.
It’s expected that Biden will discuss the ongoing creation of new jobs that have been reported over the last few months, as well as signs of declining inflation.
He’s also expected to talk about continuing — or possibly increasing — support to the Ukranian defense against Russia’s invasion.
