Christopher Benavidez was born in Morenci on February 21, 1975, to Norma Buccellato and Samuel Benavidez. Chris was the oldest of his four siblings: Bryan, Adam, Anthony, and Zach. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; and his five children; Gabby, Joey, Isaiah, Matthew, and Isabella.
Chris was the best husband to his wife, the biggest supporter of his children, and completely in love with his grandbabies; Elayna, Josiah, Roman, and baby Hap. You could always find Chris wrestling with his grandchildren or cooking for his family. If he wasn’t in the kitchen, he was outside working on all his vehicles. He loved cruising in his jeep with his wife, driving to the middle of nowhere. Chris was truly a jack of all trades, and he will forever be missed by many.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 2, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home located in Safford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 3, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morenci. Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
