SAFFORD — Multiple nonprofit groups are coming together for a neighborhood cleanup during Community Pride Days later this month.
The Cheyenne Drive cleanup will take place Friday, Feb. 27, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers will meet on the 8400 block of Cheyenne Drive. Volunteers are asked to wear comfortable clothes, a hat, closed-toe shoes and sunscreen. Volunteers should also bring a water bottle. Trash bags, gloves and vests will be provided.
The cleanup is sponsored by Southeastern Arizona Clean and Beautiful (SEACAB), Gila Watershed Partnership, Safford Lions Club, City of Safford and Graham County.
During Community Pride Days, the towns of Pima and Thatcher, City of Safford and Graham County team to encourage residents to clean their properties and neighborhoods.
During Community Pride Days, which will run Feb. 26-28, residents are entitled to one free load of residential trash at the landfill. No hazardous materials will be accepted.
Proof of residency is required and loads that are not covered and secured are subject to a $10 charge.
In addition to the free load as part of Community Pride Days, Safford residents are entitled to one free load of residential trash at the landfill each month. Proof of Safford utility service is required.
