Chamber working with cities, towns to bring events back

SAFFORD — With hopes of widespread distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, Graham County Chamber officials are hoping to see a return of events starting this spring.

“We are in full getting permits mode for events. I’m trying to see if we can do that,” said Vance Bryce, executive director for the chamber. “We’re talking to our insurance folks (and) we are in full asking for funding from local municipalities mode.”

If approvals are given, the first event would be the annual Bridal Fair in March.

“We’re trying to do it outside. And have people sign up for appointments with wedding planners inside The Venue,” Bryce said. “We’re trying to do it in the most COVID-friendly way possible. And you have to with the permitting from the City of Safford. It’s very specific; you have to have a plan.”

The next chamber event after that would be the Graham County Wine Festival in April.
