On July 9, 2026, at approximately 10:09 AM Graham County Communications received a call from a witness who reported a male, who the caller knew as Wayne Jones, was inside a truck in the driveway area of a residence in the 1100 block of W. Ocotilla Street. The caller knew the property owners and called because to his knowledge Wayne Jones did not have permission to be in the truck or on the property.
Graham County Deputies arrived and a second witness told law enforcement they saw a male, who they also knew to be Wayne Jones, inside the truck. This witness saw Wayne Jones removing items and taking those items to the end of the driveway area, making several trips from the truck to the street, he then walked away with items from the truck in his possession.
Deputies went to an address known to be Wayne Jones’ which is on the next street to the north from the incident address. When attempting to speak with Wayne Jones, he refused to come out of his residence and was yelling for law enforcement to leave.
A Deputy contacted the property owners from W. Ocotilla and they reported they had not granted permission to remove items from the truck that had been on their property for several years. The owners reported the cab of the truck had been full of items such as camping gear and power tools. When law enforcement arrived on July 9, 2026, the truck cab had no such items in it.
Based on the witnesses information and information from the victims an arrest warrant was granted for Wayne Jones for Burglary. Wayne Mabbie Jones (age 42) was told of the arrest warrant using a loudspeaker, and to come outside his residence. He did not. Gas was deployed and he still refused to exit the residence. Law enforcement entered the defendants residence and located Wayne Jones in the back of his home and he was arrested for the warrant. He was taken to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office and later booked. A search warrant was granted for the trailer home and executed later that day.
