Bryant Bickerstaff, a resident of Thatcher, entered into rest Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his residence with his wife, Suzanne, at his side. He was 67.
Bryant was born November 11, 1956, in Barstow, California to Alger Francis Bickerstaff, Jr. and Phyllis Louis Griffith Bickerstaff. He is survived by: his wife, Suzanne LeBlanc Bickerstaff; his ex-wife, Marion Marie Colgan Bickerstaff; three sons, David, Michael and Philip Bickerstaff; and his daughter, Mary Colwell.
Bryant graduated from Galesburg Senior High School in 1974 and enlisted with the U.S. Army in 1975. He was assigned to an army band where he played saxophone and clarinet in the 1st Infantry Division out of Fort Riley, Kansas. SPF Bickerstaff served as a race relations specialist and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. SPF Bickerstaff also qualified as a marksmanship expert with the M-16 rifle.
After leaving the Army, Bryant pursued an education at Western Illinois University- receiving a Bachelor of Science in 1985. Bryant was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed being a scout leader. He died in the loving arms of his wife, Suzanne, in their home after a brief illness.
Funeral services for Bryant were conducted Friday, July 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Temple View Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Concluding services followed in the Pima Cemetery.
