Bobby Eugene McDonald

Bobby Eugene McDonald, 88, of Safford, Arizona, joined his beloved Elsie Ann in Heaven on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Bobby was born April 27, 1933, in Crowell Texas, son of the late William Orbin and Willie Velma (Price) McDonald.

Bobby was a hardworking man. He started working at a young age, picking cotton near Buckeye, Arizona. At 16 he got his chauffeurs license, his daddy had him driving a bus bringing workers to the cotton fields (memories Bobby loved to share).

He became an expert drywaller, moving often for work. He was a man who loved cars and was always on the go. He had an infectious laugh, loved telling a good joke and his smile lit up the room.  Bobby loved his family deeply and wore his heart on his sleeve.

He is survived by: daughter, Dianne McDonald; sons, Robert (Jacie) McDonald, Doug (Mignon) McDonald; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Earlene “Sissy” (Don) Wilfong; brother, Hilton “Toad” (Bonnie) McDonald; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Predeceased by; wife, Elsie Ann (Adams) McDonald; son, Ronnie McDonald; mother, Willie Velma (Price) McDonald; father, William Orbin McDonald; sisters,  Vera Wooley, Geraldine (Kink) Briggs, Billie Dewberry, Christina (Jackie) Hatfield, Faye Bolduc; brother, Orbin Lee McDonald; grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.

Funeral services for Bobby were conducted Friday, April 29, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., at Vining Funeral Home’s “Chapel of the Valley,” by Pastor David Chapman of the River Community Church. Concluding graveside services followed in the Safford Cemetery.
