Enedina Delgado, 95, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2022, at her home. She was born to Jose and Bacilia Hinojos on May 14, 1926, in Metcalf, Arizona. She married Pedro Delgado on June 29, 1946, in Lordsburg, New Mexico, and spent 75 years together, happily married.
Enedina made her home in Clifton, Arizona, where she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. One of her greatest memories she loved to share was when she played volleyball with her team, The War Hawks. She especially loved sitting around her kitchen table, talking and sharing stories with her family. While her family continued to grow, Enedina took on the special name “Nana” given to her by her first grandchild, Sonja. Nana had a special relationship with each of her family members, and she’s deeply loved by them all. Her life was a living example of kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and true love.
In addition to her parents, Enedina was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ricardo and Conrado; two sisters, Elvira and Adelina; her son Frankie; great-granddaughter, Jayden Angel Delgado; and great-great-granddaughter, Alaya Justine Sanchez. She is survived by her husband, Pedro Delgado, and her family. Her children; Londie Sandoval (Jerry), Berta Chavez, Diane Aguilar (Herb), Cindee Hemmerling (Fred) and Petee Delgado. Twenty-four grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, and two more on the way. All of these family members she loved, cared for and shared a deep connection with.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Enedina was celebrated Friday morning, April 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton by Rev. Nathaniel Mma. Committal followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
