GRAHAM COUNTY — The Safford Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management announced it is temporarily taking offline for maintenance a population recreation amenity.
The two natural hot tubs at the Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area will be closed Aug. 19-22, for crews to drain the tubs, allow the drainage ditch to dry, and then clean the ditch in order to improve water flow to the tubs.
Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area is located about 26 miles southeast of Safford and the other amenities will remain open during the tubs’ maintenance, including camping and the opportunity to take an off-road vehicle riding over more than 2,000 acres of sand dunes.
