SAFFORD — A man riding a bicycle on the highway was killed after being struck by a vehicle Thursday.
Arizona Department of Public Safety reported the incident occurred at 4:22 a.m. on eastbound U.S. Highway 70, at milepost 348 near Haekel Road.
The bicyclist, identified as Ian Mouser, 42, of Portland, was struck by a Dodge pickup driven by a 27-year-old Pima man. The driver was not identified.
Mouser was pronounced dead on the scene.
DPS said investigation into the incident is ongoing; however, it appears criminal charges are unlikely.
