Beatrice Bertoldo Santos, “Tichie,” 83, passed away peacefully August 11, 2016, at the Catalina Healthcare Center in Tucson.
Beatrice was born September 18, 1932, in San Jose, Arizona. She married Joe on December 4, 1954, at the San Jose Catholic Church. They raised their four children in Safford, Arizona, and never moved away. Her Friends and Family will always remember Beatrice as a person who truly lived a beautiful life. Her love of dancing and music will never be forgotten. Her food will always be described as amazing. She loved to watch her novellas, sports and to talk and visit with family. Tichie instilled the values of hard work and respect to all of her children and was loved for her endless generosity. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Beatrice is survived by: her husband of 62 years, Joe; her sons, Robert and Jerry; her daughter, Vicki (Joe) Valenzuela; grandson, Joey (Lisa) Valenzuela; and great-granddaughter, Christiana Valenzuela; her brothers, Alex (Margie) of Tucson and Richardo Bertoldo of California; her sisters, Helen Lozano of Tucson and Stella (Carlos) Sam of Phoenix; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was preceded in death by: her son, Joe Pedrosa; her grandson, Christopher Valenzuela; her parents, Alejandro and Leonora Bertoldo; her brothers, Joe, Edward and Ernesto; and her sister, Lydia Bertoldo.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Beatrice was celebrated Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Robert Rodriguez. Committal followed in the Safford Cemetery.
