Applicants sought for vacancy on Safford School Board

SAFFORD — The Graham County School Superintendent’s Office is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Safford Unified School District’s governing board.

The vacancy was created by the resignation of board member Margaret Vidales. Vidales has accepted a position with a company contracted to serve the district, creating a conflict of interest. Her last day will be March 24.

The person appointed to fill Vidales’ seat will serve until Dec. 31, 2024. To qualify for appointment, applicants must have lived in the Safford School District for at least one year prior to appointment and be a registered voter in Arizona.

To apply, send a letter of interest to the Graham County School Superintendent, 921 Thatcher Blvd. Safford, AZ 85546. Include all contact information in the letter.

The deadline to submit a letter of interest is 5 p.m. Monday, April 10.
