SEACUS seeking volunteers for Meals on Wheels

SAFFORD — Southeastern Arizona Community Unique Services is asking for some volunteer help.

Demand is up for the Meals on Wheels program provided by SEACUS, which means a greater need for additional volunteer drivers in Graham and Greenlee counties.

“That program is one of our most requested programs,” said SEACUS Executive Director Stephanie Nabor. “It provides nutritious, whole food fresh meals to our homebound seniors.”

About 70 meals are delivered each weekday in Graham County and more than 30 in Greenlee County.

Volunteers are also needed in the SEACUS kitchens in Safford and Clifton, where the Meals on Wheels meals are prepared, as well as the congregate meals served at the two counties’ Senior Centers.

In addition to Meals on Wheels, SEACUS provides in-home services for seniors and the disabled, including in-home meal preparation or shopping for seniors, home health services and respite services for family caregivers.

To volunteer contact SEACUS at 928-428-4328.
