SAFFORD — As a lead-up to the big Gila Valley 250 celebration on July 4, the Safford City-Graham County Library and University of Arizona Cooperative Extension are offering a taste of 1776.

The Library and Extension will present Lost Recipes of the American Revolution on Wednesday, July 1, at the Library Annex on Central Avenue.

“Hear the stories and taste the recipes that were part of daily life during the American Revolution,” Library officials wrote on social media.

The cooking and tasting demonstration will take place twice Wednesday — at 10 a.m. and again at 5 p.m.

There is no cost to participate.
