PHOENIX — Arizona Department of Transportation has released its tentative five-year construction plan, and three projects in Graham and Greenlee counties have been included.

In Graham County, the second half of repaving of U.S. Highway 70 — from Reay Lane in Thatcher to Cottonwood Wash in Pima, is tentatively planned for Fiscal Year 2030. The project is estimated to cost $21.3 million.

The first half of the work — from 8th Street in Safford to Reay Lane — is underway now and expected to be complete by the summer.

The other project in Graham County is planned for Fiscal Year 2027. ADOT plans to construct a stabilizing slope on State Route 366, at milepost 133. Cost of the project is $$3.3 million.

In Greenlee County, ADOT is planning on the rehabilitation of the Rattlesnake Bridge on U.S. Highway 191. The project is planned for Fiscal Year 2028 at a total cost of $5.8 million.

Comments on the plan — including requests for inclusion of additional projects — are being accepted now and can be submitted by clicking here, or by appearing in-person at the Transportation Board meeting May 15 in Cameron.
