Graham County Sheriff’s Office Responds to 7 Incidents, Including DUI and Suspicious Activity
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office handled seven reported incidents during the reporting period beginning Oct. 7, according to the department’s Oct. 8 incident report.
One of the more significant calls involved a DUI investigation near Stockton Road and Roper Lake Road. A white Ford Taurus reportedly left the roadway, went through a ditch and struck a road warning sign. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch, and the driver was reported to have no apparent injuries. The call was initially classified as a motor-vehicle accident without injuries before being changed to a DUI investigation.
Deputies also responded to a medical call on West Anns Ranch Road involving a 1-year-old child who reportedly fell from a bed approximately 3 to 4 feet and struck her head. The child was reported to be awake, breathing and alert.
Two wanted-person incidents were recorded. In one, a person reportedly went to the Sheriff’s Office front lobby and turned himself in on a warrant. Another wanted-person call was reported near East Hollywood Road and U.S. Highway 70.
An abandoned vehicle complaint was reported near West Saddlehorn Drive and South Branding Iron Road. The vehicle, described as a maroon Cadillac, had reportedly been parked in the area for approximately a month.
Later Tuesday evening, deputies received a citizen-assistance request on East Sanchez Road in Sanchez after a resident lost connection to security cameras and wanted deputies to check on the property.
Just after midnight Oct. 8, the Sheriff’s Office also handled a suspicious-activity call on East San Jose Road after a third party reported that someone was attempting to break into a residence. The report indicates the information was limited because the caller disconnected before additional details could be obtained; deputies subsequently cleared the call.
The report covers incidents beginning after midnight Oct. 7 and lists seven total incidents for the Graham County Sheriff’s Office.
