Pike charged in stabbing death in Bylas

SAN CARLOS — San Carlos Police announced the capture of a suspect in a stabbing death of a tribal member.

Police took DeDonte Pike into custody Thursday, May 28, at a residence on North Road. Pike has been charged with second-degree murder.

Pike is alleged to have stabbed to death a man while in the Navajo Point Community in Bylas on March 5.

It was one of three homicides that occurred within seven days in March on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. On March 7, Brandon Hinton, 24, was taken into custody for the shooting death of a 20-year-old man March 6, near the Bylas Fitness Center.

On March 12, a suspect identified only as “Lang” was apprehended in the stabbing death of a 42-year-old tribal member in Bylas earlier that same day.
