No charges in ‘plastic pipe’ assault

GRAHAM COUNTY — An assault call to law enforcement resulted in no arrests after the victim declined to press charges.

The incident occurred April 6 at a home on Nelson Drive. The victim told Graham County Sheriff’s deputies that he and other friends were at the suspect’s home, drinking, watching movies and “having a good time.”

The good time ended when the victim mentioned the suspect owed him $1,000. The suspect then grabbed what was described as a “plastic pipe” and struck the victim upward of 10 times on the face and arms.

The suspect then drove away from her home, leaving the victim and others who witnessed the incident and corroborated the victim’s account.

Deputies reported seeing cuts on the victims face and arms, but the victim declined medical attention and stated he did not want the suspect tracked down and charged.
