TUCSON — When it comes to fund-raising, the Democrats appear to have a significant advantage over the Republicans in the Congressional district that represents Graham, Greenlee and Cochise counties.
On April 3, Democrat Joanna Mendoza announced she had raised $2.3 million in the first quarter of 2026.
“This campaign is powered by people who are done with politics as usual. I’ve spent my life serving this country and I’m running because Arizonans deserve a representative who shows up, tells the truth, and fights for them,” Mendoza said in a prepared statement.
On April 15, incumbent Republican Juan Ciscomani announced he had raised $1.1 million in the first quarter.
“Southern Arizona is paying attention. They want leadership that shows up, listens, and delivers results, so that is what I will continue to do every single day in Congress,” Ciscomani said in his prepared statement.
While Mendoza out-raised Ciscomani in the first quarter, Ciscomani still holds a slight edge when it comes to a campaign war chest.
According to filings with the Federal Elections Commission released Wednesday, Mendoza had $3.51 million cash on hand as of March 31, while Ciscomani reported $3.83 million cash on hand at the same time.
