SAFFORD — Our Neighbor’s Farm and Pantry is looking for the public’s help in making sure families don’t go to bed hungry.

Due to federal cuts impacting grant opportunities, the Pantry has started a year-long fund-raising campaign called Feed Our Neighbors.

The goal is to raise $57,000 over the next 12 months, which will be turned directly into meals for those facing food insecurity.

“We don’t want to ever turn away anybody,” said Our Neighbor’s Farm and Pantry board member Jessica Smith. “The amount of households that we’re helping is alarming, and that number is also going up. So with our funds being cut, the amount of need is going up.”

A donation of $30 will feed a family of four with rice, beans, a protein, fresh fruits and vegetables and more. A $40 donation feeds a family of six and an $80 donation feeds two families of six.

The fund-raising goal of $57,000 by May 2026 represents about 28 percent of the organization’s annual operating budget.

Our Neighbor’s Farm and Pantry food bank serves about 2,000 households each month with non-perishable food items and fresh fruits and vegetables grown at its farm. Local elementary schools also use the farm for hands-on science instruction.
