The Annual Gila Valley Pioneer Days celebration is set for this weekend, Friday, July 18 and Saturday July 19, 2025. The festivities will kick off with a pickleball tournament on Friday morning followed by a variety show at the Safford Center of the Arts at 4:30 pm. A family rodeo will be held at 7:00 pm in Pima followed by a family dance at the Thatcher park on 8th Street and Reay Lane from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
Saturday’s events will begin with a Pickleball tournament and a 5K race and 1-mile fun run, followed by a co-ed volleyball tournament and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The parade will begin at 6 pm and will start at the Thatcher High School parking lot. The parade route will go down Church Street to Stadium Avenue, then south to the Thatcher ball fields.
A BBQ dinner and games will be hosted on EAC’s football field, beginning at 6 pm. A fireworks show will begin after dark.
