SAFFORD — The Graham County Democratic Committee has a busy September planned.
On Wednesday, Sept.11, from 4-5 p.m., the local Democrats will host Health Care Rising for a thank you party in the large meeting room at the Graham County Chamber of Commerce building. Health Care Rising was the group that led signature gathering for Proposition 139, which seeks to establish a state constitutional right to abortion.
Following the Health Care Rising gathering, at 5 p.m., the Arizona Democratic Party will host a Town Hall for candidates, also at the Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s a great opportunity to meet the candidates, ask your questions and see what they stand on,” said Graham County Democratic Chair Patty Cervantez.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, starting at 9 a.m., Graham County Democratic Headquarters will serve as the base for the Arizona Democratic Party’s Day of Action.
“We’ll be doing some training for those that would like to learn about being a poll observer, door canvassing, phone banking (and) meeting some of our state members,” Cervantez said.
Democratic Headquarters is at 624 S. 5th Ave. in Safford.
