Teachers going high-tech to get help with classroom supplies

GRAHAM COUNY — Multiple Gila Valley teachers are using digital platforms to get help with outfitting their classrooms with needed items.

The teachers are posting to social media, directing parents and others willing to support to donorschoose.org.

There, the potential donors see what items the teachers are requesting help with, as well as how many children will be helped by the donation.

Taking part are:

  • Fort Thomas — Ms. Hansen is seeking $14 for colored pencils
  • Pima Elementary — Ms. Melser is seeking $969.80 for multiple items, including a mobile small standing desk, collapsible utility wagon, a learning clock, five visual timers and four floor gaming chairs.
  • Jack Daley Primary School — Mrs. Twitchell is seeking $704.69 for multiple books and everyday school supplies
  • Thatcher Middle School — Mrs. Smith is seeking $683 for multiple items, including tissues, snacks, laminating pouches and disinfectant wipes
  • Triumphant Learning Center — Mr. Helms is seeking $847.89 for five different LEGO sets
  • Ruth Powell School — Mrs. Westbook is seeking $254.18 for items, including sensory toys, snacks and disinfectant; and Ms. Evans is seeking $1,377.47 for 22 different types of art supplies
  • Dorothy Stinson School — Mrs. Castro is seeking $1,952.65 for a multi-sensory educational program
  • Safford High School — Mrs. Barber is seeking $544.19 for a high-velocity industrial wall fan; and Mr. Murphy is seeking $717.16 for audio and video equipment
  • Morenci High School — Mrs. Manrique is seeking $507.87 for bookcases, a podium and carpet cleaner
