SAFFORD — A new poll released Monday Normington, Petts and Associates shows Democratic challenger JoAnna Mendoza leading Republican incumbent Juan Ciscomani by 8 points in the race for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District.
Mendoza is leading 47-45 percent, but that changes to 52-44 percent after “voters hear balanced information about both candidates.”
In April, Mendoza was leading by 3 points, 47 percent to 44 percent.
The poll was commissioned by House Majority Pac, a Democratic political action committee.
The poll also showed 29 percent of respondents held a favorable view of Ciscomani’s job performance, while 46 percent had an unfavorable view, including 30 percent very unfavorable.
“Our communities deserve a representative who is going to show up, listen, and always keep their interests top of mind — not someone who will cave to D.C. party bosses. My team and I remain mission-focused and ready to deliver a decisive victory in November,” Mendoza said in a press release.

Meanwhile, the Graham County Republican Committee announced that Ciscomani will conduct a meet-and-greet Friday, July 3, from 5-7 p.m., at Ginaveve’s Market Place in Safford.
The event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
Ciscomani will also participate in the Gila Valley 250 Fourth of July Parade. The parade, along Safford’s Main Street, will begin at 10 a.m.
