SAFFORD — Multiple fights required the attention of Safford Police recently.
On Thursday, Oct. 5, Safford Police officers responded to a home on the 800 block of Stirrup Drive for a fight in progress.
The two combatants both said the altercation was the result of driving, though each offered a different story. One man said he was being tail-gaited by the other, and when the alleged tail-gaiter stopped, the first man also stopped to seek clarification. That’s when the tail-gaiter reportedly shoved the other man.
The man accused of tail-gaiting said that wasn’t the case at all, instead it was the first man who would speed up, then slow down repeatedly. When the two stopped, the first man exited his vehicle, took off his shirt and punched the other man in the side of the face.
Neither wanted to press charges and officers released both men following mutual apologies.
On Sunday, Oct. 8, officers responded to Firth Park when the reporting party said two men were involved in a short fight, after one of the men called the other a child molester.
According the reporting party, the accused man struck the accuser; however, the man struck couldn’t identify who hit him, because he is blind.
The man accused of the punch denied being in a fight and the blind man said he didn’t want to press charges, so both were released.
