SAFFORD — Safford’s newest business celebrated with a grand opening ribbon-cutting Friday.
Members of the Graham County Chamber of Commerce, the Safford Downtown Association and the City of Safford were on hand to welcome Josie James Co to the community.
Josie James Co is located at 923 S. 1st Avenue (Highway 191), but actually started in owner Desiree Schnell’s home.
“I was online for about a year and a half. So I’ve . . . seen what women like and what they don’t like. And a majority of my customers are already in the Gila Valley,” Schnell said.
Schnell said she selects inventory that’s on trend — or even a little before the trend hits — but what makes her store special is that anyone can shop there.
“Something that I’m doing, that’s different about Josie James, for the Gila Valley especially — and it’s been really, really hard as a boutique owner; this is probably the biggest challenge that a boutique owner can take on — everything single style that we have in the boutique will be offered in sizes small to 3X, and there won’t be separated sections,” Schnell said.
Josie James Co is open Thursday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Online at Josie James Co.
