WILLCOX — Valley Telecom Cooperative Foundation announced it has awarded 46 scholarships of $3,000 each, totaling $138,000 to students in the company’s service areas of Arizona and New Mexico.
Eight of the recipients are students at Eastern Arizona College: Alia Camacho, Melissa Claridge, AngaLeena Jarvis, Taralyn Neilson, Jack Owen, Rinna Peterson, Marlene Rivera and Codi Wright.
Valley Telephone Cooperative Board President David Thompson said, “We believe that supporting these students in furthering their education is what gives back to our community and we are so pleased to be able to invest in their future through higher education.”
Since 2003, the foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships to students and this year’s recipients were recognized during Valley Telephone Cooperative’s Annual Meeting, held virtually May 1.
