70 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths start October

SAFFORD — October is starting much the same way that September ended, with a number of new cases of COVID-19.

Graham County Health Department reported 70 new cases over the first four days of the month.

Fifteen of the cases were in the 85543 Zip Code, five in 85552 and 48 in 85546.

The Health Department also reported two new coronavirus-related deaths. That puts Graham County in triple digits when it comes to COVID-19 deaths, up to 101 since the start of the pandemic.

Graham County continues to offer free vaccinations for anyone over the age of 12 at the vaccination clinic on Main Street at Safford.
