31st Annual Renaissance Festival Opens February 9th

The annual Arizona Renaissance Festival is back, celebrating its 31st season of tomfoolery, feasting, tricks and thrills. The annual event opens on February 9th and continues for eight weekends – Saturdays, Sundays and Presidents’ Day (Monday) – through March 31st.

Escape to the 30-acre 16th Century village where Mermaids, Maidens, Merriment and Magical Moments await thee. With over 200 shops of handmade items; blown glass, leather goods and jewelry, 14 stages of nonstop entertainment; performances of music, dance, comedy, falconry, acrobatics and 3 jousting tournaments daily – there is something for everyone! Watch artisans work as they create a masterpiece right before your eyes. It’s a treasure trove! Eat, drink and be merry as you make your way through the faire. Feast like Royalty at the Exclusive Pleasure Feast!

This year’s festival features some special event weekends. Here’s a list of the events and dates so you can plan your trip around one of the events:

February 9 – 10: Opening Weekend

The greatest PARTY since Camelot, THE 2019 ARIZONA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL begins THIS WEEKEND! And it would not be a party without YOU!

February 16 – 18

Princess Contest: Bring your Princess (ages 5-12) Saturday February 16 to the Royal Pavilion at 1:30 p.m.

Monarch Monday Feb 18. It’s the Queen’s birthday; bring a card to the Box Office to receive 2 for $28 admission.

Febrary 23 – 24

Time Travelers – The TARDIS is landing at the Arizona Renaissance Festival this weekend. Enter the Time Traveler Contest at 1:30pm at the Royal Pavilion! Dress as your best version of a time traveler. Entrants will be judged on costume, spunk and time traveling accessories so bring a communicator, flux capacitor, sonic screwdriver or other time traveling necessities with you!

LGBTQ Day – Saturday Feb 24. Wear your red shirt and show you pride!

March 2 – 3

Start practicing your “ARRRRGH” for High Seas Adventures this weekend at the Arizona Renaissance Festival! Don’t miss the action & adventure! Bring two new books to the Kids Need to Read tent and receive a child free admission (ages 5-12) – Value $18, March 2 & 3 only!

Child Pirate Costume Contest – Saturday, March 2nd. Ahoy Me Hearties! Kids ages 5-12, come to the Royal Pavilion at 1:30 for the Child Pirate Costume Contest. Entrants will be judged on: Costume, Argh, & Swagger!

Adult Pirate Costume Contest – Sunday, March 3rd. Ahoy Me Hearties! Ages 13 & up, Come to the Royal Pavilion at 1:30 as your best Pirate. Entrants will be judged on: Costume, Argh, & Swagger, with Guest Judge Lois Lewis of KNIX.

Artisan Appreciation – Delight in hand crafted fineries and artisan wares, this weekend at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. It’s a Shoppers Paradise! March 2nd & 3rd!

March 9 – 10

Commedia Dell’arte – You never know what delightful character could be hiding behind a mask in our enchanted village! Don’t forget to wear your mask and take part in the Commedia Dell’Arte Mask Contest on Sunday, March 10th at 1:30 pm at the Royal Pavilion!

March 16 – 17

Celtic Weekend at the Arizona Renaissance Festival! Come celebrate St. Paddy’s Day at the Faire! Show us your Irish spirit contest Sunday, 3/17 at 1:30p.m. at the Royal Pavilion. SLAINTE! You could even spot a leprechaun in the shire!

March 23 – 24

Fairytale Fynery & Fantasy Weekend – Come join in all the Festival offers: comedy, shopping, feasting, action, adventure and surprises around every corner! Don’t miss the 16th Century and all its offerings-Huzzah.

Child Fantasy Character Costume Contest – Saturday, March 23, 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Pavilion.

Adult Fantasy Character Costume Contest – Sunday, March 24, 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Pavilion.

Visit Legoland’s Bertie and the master builder Alec on site Saturday and Sunday.

March 30 – 31

Don’t Miss the Final Huzzah, this weekend at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Bring 3 canned food items or non-perishables to the Apache Junction Food Bank at the Festival and receive a child (age 5-12) free admission $18 value.

Raise Your Tankard – BrewFest Returns to the Faire! Sample a variety of craft brews in the Village Green between Noon and 4pm.
