Jimmy Delgado

Jimmy Delgado, a resident of Thatcher, entered into eternal rest Friday evening, December 30, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and friends, following a valiant battle with cancer. He was 60.

Jimmy was born in Morenci, Arizona on May 16,1956 to Vicky and Jimmy C. Delgado, Sr. He attended school in Morenci, and after graduating from high school in 1974, went to work for the copper mine until the strike of 1983 encouraged him to pursue other adventures. Jimmy excelled at salesmanship, was a superb mechanic and a gifted artist and musician. He was an avid car enthusiast, loved motorcycles, and most of all enjoyed sharing his gift of music with everyone. Jimmy will truly be missed.

Jimmy is survived by: his loving partner, Lori Gomez; his father, Jimmy C. Delgado, Sr.; a brother, Danny (Chris); four sisters, Lilyann (Brian), Leevy (Wolf), Patti (Chris), Rebecca (Chris); two sons, Daniel James and Santino; three daughters, Dalia (David), Marissa and Regina (Juan); his ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, who all loved him dearly. Jimmy was predeceased by: his infant son, Mario; his mother, Vicky Delgado; and wife, Gabriela Delgado.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Jimmy was celebrated Saturday morning, January 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Vincent Ahar. Committal followed in the Safford Cemetery.

A Rosary for Jimmy was prayed Saturday morning, at 9:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Deacon Carl Vessels.

The family received friends Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., also at the church.
