SAFFORD — Arizona Department of Transportation is recommending motorists plan for extra travel time when driving on U.S. Highway 70 through Safford and Thatcher over the next two weeks.

There will be lane restrictions and delays while crews perform pavement rehabilitation.

The work will take place Monday through Friday, Nov. 6-17, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Work will start between mileposts 339-340 in Safford, before moving to mileposts 335-337 in Thatcher.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
