Work on Highway 191 in Clifton, Morenci to start April 10

CLIFTON — Road rehabilitation work 13 miles of pavement on U.S. Highway 191 in Greenlee County that was supposed to start March 31 now has a new start date.

Arizona Department of Transportation announced the Table Top Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project, from milepost 160 south of Clifton to MP 173 north of Morenci, will start April 10.

Lane restrictions will be in place each day between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Thursday, April 10, through Friday, April 18. Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. On street parking between mileposts 160 and 165 will be prohibited.

Crews are applying a micro-surface over the existing asphalt, replacing pavement markings and make spot repairs as needed.

Motorists are advised to plan for delays and add extra time to travel.
