Woman arrested after kicking in apartment door looking for her brother

A Safford police officer was dispatched to Peppertree apartments Sunday evening in reference to a woman who had allegedly kicked in the door of an apartment to gain access. Upon arrival, the reporting party told the officer that Rose Cruz had come to the apartment looking for her brother who the resident has been dating. The resident told Cruz that her brother was not there.

Cruz apparently kept banging on the door, despite being asked to leave. She then managed to kick in the door and break the door frame and gain access to the apartment. Once she was satisfied her brother was not there, Cruz left.

Authorities found Cruz outside her own residence. When asked what happened at the apartment, Cruz told police that her TV had been stolen and that her brother has stolen from her before, so she went looking for him. She admitted that she had kicked in the door. Cruz was placed under arrest and booked into the Graham County Jail for criminal trespass and criminal damage.
