Wick Communications CEO stepping down

SIERRA VISTA — Francis Wick, chief executive officer for Wick Communications, the parent company of Eastern Arizona Courier in Safford and Sierra Vista Herald/Review newspapers, announced he will be stepping down from the CEO position later this year.

The announcement was made on the newspapers’ websites Aug. 1. There was no statement on who will assume the duties of CEO, or Wick’s future plans after leaving.

Francis is the son of the late Robert Wick, who co-founded Wick Communications with Robert’s brother, Walter, and father, Milton.

Francis has been CEO since 2016. Before that he was the publisher of the Sierra Vista Herald/Review and the Daily Press in Montrose, Colo. In addition to newspapers in Safford and Sierra Vista, Wick Communications owns the Flagstaff Sun, Nogales International and Green Valley News; and co-owns with Western Publishing the Today’s News-Herald in Lake Havasu City, Kingman Daily Miner, the Mohave Valley Daily News in Bullhead City and Parker Pioneer.
