SAFFORD- Have you noticed uneven wear on your tires? This could be a possible alignment issue.

When was the last time your car was aligned? One of precaution against getting a flat tire is alignment maintenance. An alignment, or “wheel alignment” is a when the steering and suspension systems are realigned to create a smoothly working vehicle, thus preventing unnecessary and uneven wear on vehicle tires.

Boulevard Big O Tires, located at 1217 W. Thatcher Blvd. in Safford, owned by Preston and Melissa Alder, provides vehicle alignment, as well as all your automotive needs.  Preston told Gila Valley Central that a vehicles alignment system should be checked over a combination of time and miles.

“Alignments should be checked every 6 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first. The fact is that as your car and their parts get older and start to wear, the alignment angles change, which can cause this type of wear,” Preston said. “Not to mention the bumps and potholes we just can’t seem to avoid. The sooner we can catch and correct these angle issues, the better chance your tires have of getting every mile they are designed to get.”

The idea of bringing a vehicle into the shop for a routine inspection can be intimidating for the budget. However, Preston said that his team of auto technicians are highly trained, and will provide alignment checks free of charge.

“Here at Boulevard Big O Tire, we have state-of-the-art equipment and ASE Certified technicians that can check your alignment today at no charge,” Preston said. “We want to help ensure that you get the most wear out of your tires.”

• You’re using more gas than you used to.
• Your car seems to fight against the steering.
• Your steering wheel is off-center when the car is traveling in a straight line.
