Weekend brings 60 new COVID-19 cases to Graham County

SAFFORD —Graham County experienced is worst weekend thus far when it comes to coronavirus, announcing 60 new cases have been confirmed.

Graham County Health Department reported 40 new cases Friday, 14 Saturday and six Sunday. That brings the county’s total to 298, with 55 recovered, 238 active and five deaths.

Fifty-one of the cases have involved people age 20 and younger, 80 are between the ages of 21 and 35, 115 are 35 to 64 years old and 52 are 65 or older.

The San Carlos Apache Tribe also had a significant increase in the number of positive cases over the weekend, reporting 31 new positives. That bring the total to 292 tribal members who have tested positive — 268 on the reservation and 24 off — with 192 recovered, 93 active and seven deaths.

Greenlee County reported no new cases over the weekend, holding at 39 total; with 12 recovered, 26 active and one death.

Greenlee County Health Department announced free drive-through COVID-19 testing will take place Saturday, July 25, from 7-11 a.m. at Gila Health Resources in Morenci.
