SAFFORD — The annual Wedding and Event Fair, the first big event of 2021, took place on Safford’s Main Street last Saturday, and participants called it a rousing success.

“Today has been a great day,” said Stasha Barlow, owner of Jars and Lace event planning. “It’s beautiful weather — it’s been a little breezy, but it’s been a great day — and there have been a lot of people coming and ready to start hosting events again.”

The event brought together prospective brides and grooms with those that put on events — everyone from DJs and photographers to bakes and dress makers. It was also designed to help with other events, such as birthdays, baby showers and quinceanaras.

Bride-to-be Tiarra Evans and mom Lisa Wood used the event to gather the last-minute items needed for Evans wedding, which is happening in just a few weeks on April 3 (4/3/21).

“We’re getting ideas from everyone here. We really like the wood flowers,” Evans said.

The event was hosted by the Graham County Chamber of Commerce on the 400 block of Main Street and vendors set-up in one of the area’s most popular places for weddings and receptions, the Venue on Main.
