Wayne Harvard Flake, of Show Low, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 6, 2023, in the Lund Family Hospice Home in Gilbert after a yearlong battle with leukemia. Wayne was 68 and a former Thatcher resident and a retired United States Air Force veteran.
Wayne leaves behind: his eternal companion, Joy; their children, Janet Huntsman (Aaron), Preston (Krystal), Leisyl Stewart (Elijah), Jordan (Kaitlyn) and Tanner, fourteen grandchildren; his sister, Mary Jean Weech (Rodell); and brother, Raymond (Margaret). Wayne was preceded in death by: his parents, Lorenzo and Jeanene Flake; a brother, Clel and his wife,Sherri; and his foster brother, Woodrow Wagner (Caroline).
Funeral services for Wayne will be conducted Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at the Show Low Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Concluding services will follow in the R V Mike Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning, October 14, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., at the Show Low Stake Center Relief Society Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
