SAFFORD — Two are hospitalized at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center — one in critical condition — due to COVID-19.
Hospital spokesman Ryan Rapier confirmed the hospitalizations in a text message to Gila Valley Central Monday.
“We currently have two patients admitted to the facility with COVID-19, one of which is in critical condition,” Rapier said. “The majority of ventilators we have on hand are not in use currently and are available for patient care should the need arise.”
On Facebook, friends and family members of local pastor Kris Keyes said he had tested positive for COVID-19 and had been placed on a ventilator. The family members did not specify in which hospital Keyes was being treated.
Rapier said the hospital is not tracking total hospitalizations, but is instead tracking location at time of testing.
Graham County Health Department reported 20 new cases Monday, bringing the county’s new total to 172 positive cases since the start of the pandemic, with 128 active, 41 recovered and three deaths.
Greenlee County Health Department reports 26 positive cases with 14 active, 11 recovered and one death.
