SAN CARLOS — Two arrests have been made in a drive-by shooting incident on the San Carlos Apache Reservation.
A residence in the New Moonbase neighborhood was struck by gunfire at about 1:52 a.m. Friday. The family was inside the home but no one was harmed.
San Carlos Apache Police located the suspect vehicle and took two men into custody without incident.
The first man was booked into Graham County Jail on charges of drive-by shooting, aggravated assault, misconduct involving weapons, conspiracy, facilitation and criminal liability of another.
The second suspect, a tribal member whom police say was identified as the alleged shooter, was booked into the San Carlos Detention Center on charges of disorderly conduct, five counts of endangerment, aggravated assault, conspiracy, criminal damage, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, misuse of firearms, misconduct involving weapons, tampering with evidence and false reporting.
“Our department remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and holding those responsible for violent crimes accountable,” said San Carlos Police Chief Elliot Sneezy in a posting to social media.
