Tomasa “Tomi” Verdugo Salinas of Safford passed away on May 21, 2024, at home with family beside her, she was born on December 29, 1945, in Lordsburg, NM to Dolores Verdugo and Dolores Romero Verdugo joining her older brother Onecimo Banuellas. She attended Safford schools and Eastern Arizona College. She met and married Inez Ramon Salinas Jr. and together they had two children Rose and Inez. They made their home in Safford then moved to San Manuel, then later returned back to Safford.
She enjoyed listening to music, cooking, painting ceramics and making leather belts and purses as well as collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, ceramic masks and dragons. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends going dancing.
She’s survived by her daughter Rose Gomez, grandchildren Vanessa Salinas, Katerina Salinas, Michael Gomez (Kristianna), Jeremy Gomez (Jessica), Adam Gomez (Yvette), Aaliyah Gomez and 11 great grandchildren.
Tomi is preceded in death by her parents Dolores Verdugo and Dolores Romero Campos, brother Onecimo Banuellas, sister Maria Banuellas, her son Inez Ramon Salinas III, great grandsons Michael Jacob Gomez Jr. and Jeremy Anthony Gomez Jr.
