According to a press release from Thatcher Police Chief, Shaffen Woods, on December 17, 2018 at at 2200 Hours Thatcher PD received a report of a suspect shooting at a vehicle in the area of the 2200 block of Hwy 70 in Thatcher. Officers from Thatcher PD were assisted by Officers from Safford PD, Pima PD and the Graham County Sheriff’s Office in a search for a suspect that was reportedly armed and had fled the area on foot.
During the search of the surrounding areas, a suspect was located and shots were fired.
Nobody was injured in the shooting and the suspect, Jeremy Hunter (27) was taken into custody. This case remains under investigation.
