THATCHER — The Thatcher Lady Eagles were impressive in their first two wins in the 2A State Championship tournament last weekend in Prescott Valley. They defeated #14 Phoenix Christian 62-33 and even more impressively defeated #6 San Carlos 72-48.
Thatcher used their height and speed to go around, over and through every defense that either team had to offer. The win over San Carlos was even a more impressive performance on Saturday morning following the news of the death of a classmate in an auto accident.
Cassidy Wakefield led the way against San Carlos with 29 points and 14 rebounds.
Thatcher will take on #10 St. Johns on Friday morning at 9am at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.
The Lady Redskins are having a Cinderella run in the playoffs. They knocked off #7 Leading Edge 33-29 and then a dominating performance over #2 Bisbee 42-26. Thatcher beat Bisbee twice this season by a total of 7 points.

The winner will play the winner of Valley Sanders vs Camp Verde at 2pm on Saturday.

Parking Sales/Fan Parking:
● Fans may enter Fairgrounds starting at 6am
● $8 /per car/ per day.
● No in/out privileges without paying again.
● Cash or Credit Card – Parking Only.
● ALL fans to arrive off 19th Ave and Monte Vista.
● Parking will be located in the North Lot.
● Please follow the instructions of any parking attendants to ensure you are parked in a proper location.
Bus Parking – Team and Rooter Busses
● Busses will enter off 19th Ave. & Monte Vista.
● Busses will drop off at the North Coliseum Box office; teams will enter down the North Hall Stairs.
● Busses will park in the NE Corner of the North Lot.
