SAFFORD — Safford Police Department, Thatcher Police Department and Graham County Sheriff’s Office are teaming for a Teen Police Academy this summer.

Teens will have the chance to learn about crime scene investigations, traffic enforcement, patrol, and drugs and narcotic investigations.

The academy is for teens 14 to 18, who are enrolled in a Gila Valley high school and have at least a “C” or better grade-point average. The teens must also not have a history of criminal activity or be on probation.

The academy will run June 2-6, from 4-8 p.m. each day, at the Safford Police Station.

Space is limited and registration forms can be obtained from each school district’s school resource officer or at the Safford Police Department.
